Colin grew up in a small rural town in northern Illinois, spending his boyhood years on lakes, streams and fields hunting, fishing and developing a love of nature and the outdoors.
His love of art developed at a young age and continued through his high school years. Encouraged by his parents and a high school art teacher, Colin continued his formal art training at the American Academy of Art in Chicago.
For 31 years Colin ran his own graphic design and illustration business, serving fortune 500 companies like Kellogg's, Stryker, pharmaceutical giant Upjohn (Pifzer) and illustrating children's books and greeting cards.
For the past 10 years Colin has exhibited in numerous juried art shows, with many of these by invitation.
Today with the graphic design business behind him, he is painting full time and enjoying the outdoor world he loves.
Every summer and sometimes winter, Colin travels from his rural home in southwest Michigan to Montana for the skiing, fly fishing, and to paint the life and landscapes of Montana that has become a big part of who he is.
